CALL TO ACTION
Colleagues:
MHHRA has over 30 years of tradition including strong educational programs, great networking opportunities, committed business partners and sponsors and a sense of community. Yet over the last few years, busy schedules, changes in the HR landscape and competing priorities has resulted in fewer members and decreased program participation.
At this time of year we would normally be renewing membership. However, it is with regret, that we report we do not have enough Committee Members or Board Members to prepare programs and support our association.
We Need Your Help to Continue Traditions and Start New Ones
MHHRA is your association. This "Call to Action" is an opportunity for interested members to step forward and join a Committee and/or participate on the Board. We need to enlist the leadership of individuals interested in working with existing Board Members in shaping a new future direction for MHHRA.
Our current Committees include:
Program/Diversity Committee - This group creates and implements educational programs related to the leadership of human resources in healthcare organizations and ensuring program topics and presenters reflect the populations we serve. The Committee shall be responsible for all related program logistics including speaker identification, determination of locations, dates and times.
Legislative/Labor/Employee Relations Committee - The L&L Committee advises the Board on matters pertaining to communications with other healthcare and human resources organizations in the Commonwealth, other New England chapters of ASHHRA and the media. The Committee promotes the understanding, active participation and influence on legislation and political relations issues affecting healthcare policy and human resources management in collaboration with local, state and national organizations.
Recruitment/Retention/Recognition Committee - R3 advises the Board on issues pertaining to membership recruitment and overall satisfaction. The Committee provides programs for new member orientation, mentoring and outreach to new healthcare organizations.
Regional Integration - This group provides information to MHHRA Members regarding what is happening in all Massachusetts regions.
Any Chair or Co-Chair of a Committee also has a seat on our Board of Directors. Additionally, the infrastructure of MHHRA is flexible enough to change an existing committee's purpose or add a new committee that may more closely meet the needs of our members.
Whatever Your Interest, We Want to Hear from You
Let us know your interest by April 1st (no fooling). Contact one of the Board Members listed below. Shortly after April 1, we will be back to you to let you know our progress.
Thank you and continued best wishes for success.
